.: General Information
• Description
The National Consortium of Professional Development Schools (NCPDS) provides a comprehensive,
easily accessible, and practice-informed resource through which institutions can
contribute to and learn from each other's experiences within the highly contextualized
and complex work of PDS. It uses Microsoft® Office SharePoint™
Portal Server 2003 to create a collaborative web-based environment as a resource
for the continuous improvement of educator preparation and P-12 practice in the
service of improved student learning and achievement. A national Advisory Board
guides NCPDS development, and a team of technology experts at Georgia Southwestern
State University manages and maintains the site.
• Institution Profile
General information about your college or university
• Educator Preparation Unit Profile
Information about your school/college/department or unit responsible
for the preparation of educators. Includes information about administration, faculty,
and students. Also includes information about your PDS, including origins, selection
process, years of operation, and implementation and sustainability strategies.
• PDS Impact Profile
The Professional Development School Impact Profile is aligned with
the NCATE PDS Standards (2001) and is an adaptation of the Maryland State Department
of Education Developmental Guidelines for Maryland Professional Development Schools
(2003). This interactive tool allows you to “click on” your stage of development
according to indicators for Learning Community; Collaboration; Accountability; Organization,
Roles, and Resources; and Diversity and Equity. A PDS Summary Report allows you
to see your partnership's development “at a glance.”
• Benefits to Your PDS:
By using this interactive web-based tool, your PDS
will

recognized PDS standards.
- Create a catalogue and repository of artifacts as evidence of standards use.
